Ultra Light barge tanker Swiss LNG II completed at De Gerlien van Tiem
The Swiss LNG II is an Ultra Light LNG tanker of 135 x 18 meters intended for Swiss Barging, a subsidiary of Rederij Somtrans nv from Wijnegem. The 70 cubic meter LNG tank is located at the stern. 2 Wärtsilä engines type 6L20 of 1110 kW each, provide the dual-fuel propulsion. De Gerlien van Tiem supplied 2 bow thrusters and 2 square spud poles of its own making.
A FLEX tunnel system has been integrated into the shallow water hull so that the tanker can also transport its cargo at low water.
The inauguration of the Swiss LNG II was celebrated on 23 October with a great party at our yard in Druten.
